Arthur Tatum Jr. (1909-1956) was an American jazz pianist. Tatum was widely considered one of the greatest jazz pianists of all time and influenced generations of jazz pianists. He was hailed for the technical proficiency of his performances, which set a new standard for jazz piano virtuosity.
