The origin of this piano dates back to 1871 with the development of the Steinway & Sons 85-note Style 1 grand piano. Modified and renamed the Model B in 1878, it has enjoyed unrivaled renown as a performance instrument in countless venues from the teaching studio to the recording studio and the concert hall to the home. Today the Model B represents the second largest concert grand piano handcrafted at the Steinway factory in New York City.
